The first 24 to 48 hours
Keep lashes dry and avoid steam, saunas, hot showers on your face and sweaty workouts while the glue fully sets. Your lash tech may give you a specific time — follow theirs.
Everyday habits that help
- Clean your lashes a few times a week with a lash-safe, oil-free cleanser and a soft brush.
- Brush them gently each morning with a clean spoolie.
- Avoid oil-based makeup removers and waterproof mascara.
- Try to sleep on your back or use a silk pillowcase to reduce rubbing.
- Don't pull or pick at lashes — it can damage your natural ones.
Book infills on time
Natural lashes shed every day, so extensions thin out over time. Most people book an infill every two to three weeks to keep them looking full.
Common questions
- Can I wear mascara on extensions?
- It's best not to. If you must, use a water-based, extension-safe mascara on the tips only.
- Why are my lashes falling out fast?
- Oil, heat, rubbing and skipped cleaning are common causes. Mention it to your lash tech — they can adjust glue or style.
